Support Worker - Cloonavin Green Project

Salary Remuneration: £8.05 per hour + sleep-in allowance + mileage allowance + Pension opportunity

Description and Duties

35 hours per week (Full Time)

21 hours per week (Part Time)

This position involves shift work including occasional night duty. Shifts are typically 8:00am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Night shifts are 10:00pm to 8:00am.

Sleep-in may be required on occasion.

The support worker will provide support to adults with learning disabiltiies. Support will include help with cooking, domestic tasks, budgeting, socialisation, personal care and other daily living skills. Naturally, some service users require additional postive behaviour support.


Honesty, integrity, motivation, and ambition will stand you in good stead from the off. We value interpersonal skills learned from other industries such as hospitality & retail. We’d love you to be able to evidence good organisational skills, showing initiative, teamwork and a strong work ethic. Whether you’re new to the industry or have years of experience, we still want to see that you have the desire to learn.

The successful candidate will preferably hold an NVQ in Health & Social Care / Child Care / Early Years / B-Tech National Diploma in Social Care or other relevant qualification. 

Access to your own transport with appropriate insurance cover is desirable but not essential. 

You must be able to show an awareness of the needs of adults with learning disabilities in a supported environment and demonstrate that you have the basic skills and values needed to provide the necessary support that’s required. If you can show an understanding of the mechanics and the intrinsic value of various approaches and programmes used to positively manage complex behaviour, then we’ll be really impressed.
