Support Worker - Cloonavin Green Project

Salary Remuneration: 8.05 per hour + sleep-in allowance + 0.415 per mile + Pension opportunity

Description and Duties

The Cloonavin Green Project (Coleraine)

35 hours per week 

This postition invloves shift work including night duty on a rotational basis.

Sleep-in may be required on occasion.

The Support Worker will provide support to adults with learning disabilities and will be based predominantly at the Cloonavin Green Project in Coleraine. The Cloonavin Green Project is a supported living initiative in Coleraine for 25 adults with learning disabilities. Support will include help with budgeting, cooking, domestic help, socialisation. Naturally, some service users require additional help, including domestic and personal care.

Requirements

The successful candidate will preferably hold an NVQ in Health & Social Care / Child Care / Early Years / B-Tech National Diploma in Social Care or other relevant qualification. Experience in working in the care or support industry is essential.

Access to your own transport with appropriate insurance cover is desirable. 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate an awareness of the needs of adults with learning disabilities in a supported environment. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the skills required to support people with learning disabilities and will understand the mechanics and the intrinsic value of various approaches and programmes. Applicants should be flexible, motivated, and energetic and show an ability to be an effective team member.

Location

The successful applicant will be based at the Cloonavin Green Project in Coleraine but may also support service users in the surrounding area.
